Body Fragments

Monochrome torso fragment

This work originates from my Body Forms series and flows directly into the conceptual framework of Body Fragments. By narrowing the focus onto a specific section, an intense, fragmentary intimacy emerges. Recently exhibited at the MMAC Juan Soriano, this piece demonstrates how reduced monochrome works bring the pure essence of form, strength, and vulnerability to the center.

From Form to Fragment

When I focus on a single detail, for example a shoulder, a hand or a contour, a unique intimacy and emotional depth emerges. In these reduced monochrome watercolor works, I bring the essential form, the strength, and the vulnerability of the human body to the center. This is how deeply personal and timeless artworks are created for me.

The Style & Concept

Created in monochrome watercolor and graphite, these works focus on anatomical truth, posture, and the raw presence of the human form. I do not paint literal details such as scars, tattoos, or wrinkles; instead, I seek the universal essence, strength, and quiet vulnerability that lives within every body.

In this project,  you will encounter three compositional approaches:

  • The centered fragments that rest in an open, quiet space, giving the individual posture room to breathe.

  • The full-bleed macro close-ups where the framing dissolves, turning skin, joints, and lines into an abstract, flowing landscape of textures.

  • The extended fragments that show a larger portion of the body while still remaining true to the fragment concept. These pieces bridge broader anatomical forms with intimate details, often framed by atmospheric, dark backgrounds.

Every body has a unique story to tell. If you feel called to be part of Celebrate Your Body as a muse, I would love to hear from you. Let’s create a safe space for self-acceptance together.
